Dreaming in Spanish

A dream so close I can reach out and grab it!

Tomorrow I leave for an 8-day trip to Spain. I’ll be starting in Madrid for the first two days, then Zaragoza for a day (and night) and then off to Barcelona for the rest of the trip. I’ve talked and dreamed about visiting Spain for so long, it almost feels like I’ve already been there!

For the first time in a while, I’m traveling completely on my own. (I’m a bit nervous, but should be fine) All the hotels have been reserved and the schedule set. I’m planning to take a Spanish cooking class while in Barcelona too at “Cook and Taste“. Here’s hoping I cook my family some authentic Spanish food when I get back!

On the 4-course menu, there’ll be tomato soup shot flavored with idiazabal cheese, potato omelette with tomato bread, seafood paella and catalan cream. Haven’t had any of those yet (except Campbell’s version of Tomato Soup), but sure sounds tasty. We’ll be starting with a visit of the marketplace to pick out the ingredients too. I’ve never been this excited about cooking before!

The rest of the time in Spain, I plan to explore, sketch and basically soak in as much of the culture as I can. I’m also planning to meet with a university coordinator of a Master’s program I’m interested in. Lots to do! Lots to see! Lots to eat!

I know I’m going to simply fall in love with this country…

Welcome to My Blog!

Lorena's Epiphany was created one morning in 2006 and has joined me ever since. It's been my home-away-from-home and where I've been able to unleash my inner-most thoughts and musings. Hopefully one day I'll look back at this as an old lady and smile.
