Take a good look at the man above. Notice the rag-tag layering, the leather jacket matched with coordinated overcoat and the touch of red for contrast. His handsome good looks and confident stride could easily be mistaken for a model’s.
He is just a homeless man with a slight mental imbalance. No one knows who he really is nor what life was like before for this 35-year-old vagabond.. except that he is now the coolest man in China. Web users in China have called him the “Beggar Prince”, the “Handsome Vagabond”, and, most often, “Brother Sharp”.
In January, designer Vivienne Westwood presented her line “homeless chic”, suggesting that homelessness can be cool. A preview of the line:
Either people are really bored or inspiration can really come from anywhere! Now I’m not for exploiting the less fortunate, but here’s hoping this online fame helps Brother Sharp get off the streets.
