When you’re feeling blue..
The third wig as part of the One Wig Stand awareness campaign. A special thanks to my friends Samira and Nadine for helping me spot potential wig wearers and then telling them about the project. The flyers helped tremendously at the loud party (organized by Cotton Candy). All I had to do was point at the ribbon and people got it was for cancer awareness.
Oddly enough, the guys were easier to convince than the girls. I always assumed it’d be the opposite.. or maybe the guys just want to know how it feels to have long hair for a change
Your Grandkids
“Why tell your grandkids you worked 9-5, five days a week for 40 years and quietly sat in traffic jams while people went to war, suffered disease and shot their own classmates? Tell them you refused to live in fear. Tell them you crossed the Amazon, saw the Lost Cities of Gold and met your soul mate in Casablanca. Travel to the ends of the earth. Go now and live adventures that will make your grandkids proud.”
Words to live by. I read this quote on the Travel Junkie, aka Julia Dimon’s website.
She’s my new role model.
Obama’s Victory!
We’ve witnessed history in the making. Congratulations Barack Obama! Geoff (at Going.com) put together a large webpage showcasing some 700 frontpages of newspapers from around the world (from Newseum) on the day that Barack Obama won the US Presidential Election. Check it out: Link
The selections are impressive, though toward the end some newspapers apparently either didn’t get the news, didn’t care or had to go to press before the results were in.
