The Blogger
“Lorena”, a nickname given to me by close friends while in university, is my blogging alter-ego. I never knew why I got this nickname, but who truly does, right?
When I started Lorena’s Epiphany back in 2006, I had no clear-cut idea of where I wanted this blog to go. It started in the midst of the 2006 Israeli-Lebanese conflict that affected and relocated the lives of many. A large group of my friends moved to Dubai, others the US, and some stayed in Lebanon. I was in the group that ended up in the US – starting a new life in Boston with no one to really share it with but my supportive older brother.
This blog became a daily update of what I was going through, things I was discovering and learning about life on my own. And most of all, it became a way to keep my friends updated without sending massive emails. It truly came to me as a so-called “Epiphany” one morning when I felt a huge urge to create a blog and let my thoughts out in writing.
When I moved back to Lebanon in 2010, the blog continued to evolve in topics and blogging approaches. What started as a blog to simply keep in touch with distant friends has become more of an online clip-book of topics, photos and my interests. Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of this evolution and for your comments on my posts. Greatly appreciated!
As a self-professed “Blog-A-Holic”, I love blogging and creating blogs. It’s hard to keep up with all of them at times, but I try my best to post interesting stuff on all of them whenever I get the chance or inspiration. Check them out below:
www.onewigstand.org -> A breast cancer awareness project, sharing the stories of women through their wigs.
www.ifthebagfits.wordpress.com -> Travel blog of the Chronic Over-Packer (me)
www.trendestrian.tumblr.com -> Spotting and writing about trends on the streets of Barcelona and Beirut (recently)
